Magesh Ganesan has spent a decade in fine dining, and now he's betting his fourth Texas restaurant on The Woodlands.
Curry & Grill: Indian Cuisine and Bar opened its doors on Research Forest Drive with a soft opening on July 4, according to Community Impact. A public grand opening celebration is set for Sunday, Aug. 16, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
The Woodlands location joins Ganesan's existing Curry & Grill restaurants in Conroe, Humble and Galveston. Ganesan told Community Impact the new spot focuses on authentic Indian recipes with a full bar.
What's on the menu
The menu is broad. It splits into vegetarian and non-vegetarian sections, covering soups, appetizers, entrees, drinks and desserts. Standout dishes include the Paneer Butter Masala, cottage cheese cubes cooked in a creamy tomato butter sauce with aromatic Indian spices, and the Hyderabadi Goat Dum Biryani, basmati rice layered with slow-cooked goat meat. Tandoori, pulao and other biryanis round out the offerings.
A decade in Houston-area dining
Ganesan's roots in the local Indian food scene stretch back to 2015, when he co-opened The Curry House in Humble with business partner Lakshmi "LK" Reddy. His culinary approach draws on both North and South Indian traditions, plus Indo-Chinese dishes.
Interior photos of the new Woodlands space show plum leather booth seating and black tables set with plated dishes and silverware.
Ganesan said he looks forward to doing business in The Woodlands area, bringing his experience in fine dining to the Research Forest corridor.
