Woodlands-area residents looking for live music this weekend have three nights of Texas talent lined up at Dosey Doe-The Big Barn, the dinner-and-a-show venue on Interstate 45 in The Woodlands.

The run starts Friday, Aug. 14, with Houston-born singer-songwriter Cory Morrow bringing a full band at 8 p.m. Morrow is a Texas country fixture who has sold more than 200,000 albums on his own label and is touring behind his latest record, "The Letting Go." Opening act Payton Riley plays when doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $45, $60 or $75 depending on the seat, according to the venue's ticket page.

Saturday night belongs to North Texas blues band Texas Flood, led by guitarist Tommy Katona. The group grew out of a Stevie Ray Vaughan tribute act and has built a reputation for raw, high-energy sets. Saturday's 8 p.m. show doubles as a birthday celebration for Katona. Tickets start at $20 and top out at $40. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Casey James closes the weekend Sunday at 7 p.m. The Texas-born guitarist placed third on Season 9 of "American Idol" in 2010 and released his first acoustic album, "Me & My Guitar," earlier this year. On his official website, James said he is "beyond excited to finally get this material on a record and to perform it live." Tickets run $25 to $35, with doors at 5:30 p.m.

All three nights include dinner service starting when doors open, giving Woodlands residents a sit-down meal and a show without fighting traffic into Houston. The venue is listed on Woodlands Online's events calendar as a local destination.

Unlike the free Township-run outdoor series at Hughes Landing and Waterway Square, Dosey Doe offers a ticketed, seated format in an intimate barn setting.
