The Woodlands Children's Museum will transform into a Gabby's Dollhouse playground for nine days starting Friday, Sept. 11, bringing DreamWorks Animation's popular preschool series to life with art projects, a scavenger hunt and a storytime reading.

The event, called MEOWseum Discovery Days, runs through Saturday, Sept. 19, at the museum's Panther Creek Village Center location. All activities are included with the regular $10 admission for adults and children 1 year and older.

"Gabby's Dollhouse captures the power of learning through play by encouraging children to be curious, creative, solve problems, work together, and most importantly, have fun," interim executive director Jennifer Kraus said in announcing the partnership. "These are the same qualities we strive to nurture each day at The Woodlands Children's Museum, so this partnership is a natural fit for our guests and our mission."

The museum is one of five nationwide in the September cohort, alongside children's museums in Erie, Pennsylvania; Gulfport, Mississippi; Quincy, Illinois; and Bismarck, North Dakota. The partnership between DreamWorks Animation and the Association of Children's Museums is in its second year, expanding to 64 museums in 2026 after reaching more than 56,000 guests at 44 museums last year. Participating museums in 2025 saw a 50% average increase in admission on event dates, according to ACM.

Families can expect Gabby-themed art projects, a photo experience with a life-size Gabby standee and themed backdrop, and a scavenger hunt throughout the museum. New this year, activities incorporate a Fairylandia theme drawn from Season 13 of the Netflix series.

On Friday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m., the museum kicks off the event with a storytime reading of "DreamWorks Gabby's Dollhouse: The Cupcake Tree," adapted by Gabhi Martins.

There will be no live Gabby character appearance.

The museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the event. It is closed Sundays and Mondays. The Woodlands Children's Museum is at 4775 W. Panther Creek Drive, Suite 280. For more information, call (281) 465-0955 or visit woodlandschildrensmuseum.org.

The storytime kicks off a full week of drop-in activities that require no registration, running daily through museum closing on Sept. 19.
