Kids and parents can get hands-on with live mammals, reptiles and insects when The Learning Zoo brings its Animal Encounters program to The Woodlands Children's Museum on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
The session starts at 11 a.m. inside the museum at 4775 W. Panther Creek Drive, Suite 280, in the Panther Creek Village Center. Guests can touch, observe and learn about the animals' characteristics and habitats.
No extra ticket is needed.
The encounter is included in the museum's standard $10 admission for adults and children 1 year and older. Children under 1 get in free.
The Learning Zoo, a Woodlands-area facility located off FM 1488 and FM 242, has partnered with the museum on a recurring series in 2026, with previous sessions in April and June and another scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 19, according to the Woodlands Online events calendar.
The Oct. 14 encounter falls during a packed fall season at the nonprofit museum, which was founded in 2001. Interim executive director Jennifer Kraus said in an Aug. 5 announcement about the museum's fall programming that "children learn best when they are engaged, encouraged, and having fun."
The museum is open Tuesday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is closed Sunday and Monday. Tickets can be reserved online at woodlandschildrensmuseum.org or by calling (281) 465-0955.
