Market Street will fill its Central Park with Hispanic-owned vendors, ballet folklorico and live music Sunday, Sept. 27, for a free celebration called El Mercado.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the shopping center at 9595 Six Pines Drive, according to Market Street, which confirmed the schedule in a Facebook post Wednesday and in a press release carried by Woodlands Online and WoodlandsMommy.

No tickets or registration are required.

El Mercado returns after last year's event, according to a Facebook post from WoodlandsMommy.com.

Children's activities run from 11 a.m. to noon. Ballet folklorico performances follow from noon to 1 p.m. Live music plays from 2 to 3 p.m.

El Mercado falls during National Hispanic Heritage Month, observed Sept. 15 through Oct. 15. Several Market Street retailers, including Bluemercury and Jo Malone London, are running in-store Hispanic Heritage Month features through the month.

Market Street's Fall Concert Series, held Thursdays through Oct. 29, also ties into the observance, according to Hello Woodlands. On Oct. 15, Shakira tribute band SHEWOLF performs as part of the free series from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
