A specialty needlepoint shop stocking seven premium thread lines and planning community classes opened its doors Aug. 1 on Woodstead Court, giving The Woodlands a dedicated gathering spot for stitchers.
Owner Beth Griffith launched Studio 3113 Modern Needlework at 1776 Woodstead Court, Suite 123, near the intersection of Woodlands Parkway and Six Pines Drive. The store sells needlepoint canvases, threads, supplies and accessories, according to Community Impact reporter Kara Willis, who first covered the opening Aug. 3.
The shop carries seven thread lines, including Vineyard Silk, Appleton's Wool, Au Ver a Soie silk, Painter's Threads and Rainbow Gallery, the Spring Reporter reported, citing Griffith's comments to Community Impact.
Local interest was immediate.
A Facebook post announcing the grand opening drew 3,600 views and 347 reactions before the doors opened on Aug. 1. The Woodlands area already supports a free "Knit & Stitch" group at Mitchell Library on the first and third Wednesday of each month, suggesting a built-in audience for a dedicated needlework retailer.
Griffith told Community Impact she plans to host classes and community gatherings for needlepoint enthusiasts at the shop, which she positions as a space to shop, gather and learn. No class schedule had been announced as of Aug. 3.
The store is open Wednesday from noon to 7 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is closed Sunday through Tuesday. The phone number is (713) 887-3970 and email is [email protected].
