A new private school in The Woodlands will welcome its first kindergarten through sixth-grade students on Wednesday, offering families a hybrid model that blends three days of classroom instruction with two days of learning at home.

Seeds & Fruits Christian Academy, housed at Woodlands Bible Church at 995 Pinyon Pine Drive in the Panther Creek neighborhood, is the creation of Giewee Hammond, a data scientist and STEM educator who serves as head of academy. This is the school's founding 2026–2027 year.

"Many parents want the flexibility and influence associated with homeschooling, but they are not necessarily prepared to become their children's primary teachers," Hammond told Woodlands Online. "We created Seeds & Fruits so teachers could remain responsible for formal instruction while families preserved a meaningful role in their children's education and formation."

Students attend teacher-led classes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Tuesdays and Fridays are set aside for independent learning, reading and family-directed activities. Unlike collaborative homeschool programs where parents share teaching duties, the academy's teachers handle curriculum, instruction and academic progress. Parents stay involved but are not expected to run lessons on home days.

The curriculum spans reading, writing, math, science, history, STEM and robotics, Spanish, art, music and outdoor learning, taught through a Christian worldview. The school emphasizes mastery-based progression and small class sizes, with no daily homework.

Tuition ranges from roughly $950 to $1,100 per month depending on grade level, according to the school's website. Sibling discounts and monthly payment plans are available. After-school enrichment in Spanish ($325/month) and robotics ($425/month) is open to community families as well as enrolled students.

The school says it draws interest from families across The Woodlands, Spring, Conroe, Magnolia, Oak Ridge North and Tomball.

Rolling admissions for the founding year remain open. Families can apply at seedsandfruits.org/apply or schedule a campus tour at seedsandfruits.org/visit. The school can be reached at (832) 850-5709.
