Pavilion Palooza, a rebranded version of the longtime Children's Festival, comes to The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on Saturday, Nov. 7 and Sunday, Nov. 8, with $10 admission covering seven themed zones of music and cultural activities.
The two-day festival at 2005 Lake Robbins Drive carries a "World Tour" theme, according to Woodlands Online. Texas Children's is the presenting sponsor. Children ages 2 and younger are admitted free, and tickets are available through Ticketmaster.
Jeff Young, president and CEO of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, said the rebranded festival aims to bring the community together through music and the arts. He called volunteers essential to creating welcoming experiences for families.
The Pavilion is recruiting community members to help run the event. Interested residents can contact Erin Kelly at [email protected] or visit woodlandscenter.org for volunteer details.
What to expect
The Rock and Roll Playhouse headlines the Main Stage with kid-friendly concerts featuring the music of Taylor Swift, The Beatles, Bob Marley and Tom Petty, according to an August Woodlands Online report.
Seven zones span the Pavilion grounds. Inside the Event Center, Roots & Rhythms features bluegrass and zydeco on the Front Porch Stage, while Palooza Playland offers inflatable play areas and a tiny instrument petting zoo for toddlers. On the Pavilion Lawn, Harmony Gardens brings an Asian-inspired atmosphere with ribbon kites and an origami exchange, and Island Sounds adds tropical activities including lei-making and a limbo challenge.
Rhythm Village, Plaza de la Música and Melody Motorway round out the zones with African drum circles, mariachi performances and a European-inspired vehicle exploration area.
Preferred parking in the Town Center Garage off Six Pines Drive costs $10 per vehicle, Hello Woodlands reported. Five free lots off Timberloch Place connect to the Pavilion by pathways across The Waterway.
