Drivers near Grogan's Point lost lanes on Sawdust Road the week of Aug. 13 after crews began tearing out and replacing a golf cart and pedestrian bridge just west of South Millbend Drive.

Anyone approaching the closure from the west will need to detour north on Glen Loch Drive rather than continuing east on Sawdust, according to Precinct 3's weekly road project update published Thursday, Aug. 13.

@woodlandsonline: "ROADWORK — Sawdust is closed near Grogan's Point (just west of S Millbend) for bridge construction. Anyone on the west side of the bridge will need to take Glen Loch north instead of Sawdust east."

The bridge project is not county work. Montgomery County Precinct 3 Commissioner Ritch Wheeler's office said the bridge belongs to the golf course and is being replaced by the course's own contractor. Township Development Standards Committee records from Sept. 17, 2025, identify the owner as Woodlands Trails ARCIS LLC, the operator of The Woodlands Country Club at 2311 N Millbend Drive in the Village of Grogan's Mill. The committee considered a time extension for the renovation last fall, indicating the project had been in the pipeline for nearly a year before construction started.

No completion date has been announced for the bridge work.

Wheeler's office did not provide expected completion dates for any of the 11 projects. The listing describes them only as underway the week of Aug. 13.
