Brooke Miller never lost a district or region championship race in four years at The Woodlands High School. Now she'll race in the SEC.

Vanderbilt head swimming coach Jeremy Organ announced Friday, Aug. 21 that Miller is part of the Commodores' nine-member 2026-27 recruiting class, joining six other freshmen and two transfers from across the United States and Canada.

Miller compiled a staggering résumé during her time with the Highlanders: 16 NISCA All-American selections, 15 first-team all-state honors and a 32-for-32 record in event finals at district and region championship meets. She was named Texas Girls Coaches Association Athlete of the Year for the 2025-26 season and placed third in the 100 free at the UIL 6A state championships as a senior.

Her best times — 22.88 seconds in the 50 free, 50.32 in the 100 free and 55.70 in the 100 fly — anchor a résumé that also includes club swimming for the Houston Bridge Bats.

"I chose Vanderbilt because it offers the perfect balance of athletics and education," Miller said in the university's announcement. "The welcoming team culture made it feel like the right place for me."

Miller is the latest product of a TWHS swim program led by coach Jeremy Wade, who was named Texas High School Coaches Association Coach of the Year in a surprise ceremony in May. Wade, now in his ninth year leading the Highlanders, said when he received the award: "The hard-working kids make this possible, and a great supportive administrative staff."

Organ said the incoming class brings "talent, versatility" and will help the program "continue to move forward." Miller joins a Vanderbilt squad competing in the Southeastern Conference.
