The American Heart Association's Montgomery County Heart Walk lands at Northshore Park on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 8 a.m.

The walk, held at 2505 Lake Woodlands Dr., gives residents a Halloween morning option that doubles as a fundraiser for heart disease and stroke research. Keaton Kainer is chairing the 2026 event, a role announced at the association's 2026–2027 kickoff celebration Sept. 9 at Lotus of The Woodlands, according to Hello Woodlands.

The association said funds raised support CPR training and cardiovascular research. Its promotional materials note that nine of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside a hospital do not survive, often because no bystander performs CPR.

Registration is open at montgomerycountyheartwalk.org.

The Heart Walk is the first in a slate of AHA events planned for The Woodlands area this season. The Origin Bank Open Golf Tournament follows Nov. 17 at Highland Pines Golf Club. The Heart of The Woodlands gala, formerly known as the Heart Ball, is set for Feb. 20, 2027, at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott. A Go Red For Women Luncheon rounds out the calendar on May 14, 2027, also at the Marriott.
