Twenty-four students at the Sarah Kelly Music School in The Woodlands have landed recordings on this season's Grammy ballot, the Market Street school announced Oct. 20.

The milestone adds to a growing track record. The school says more than 100 of its students have appeared on the Grammy ballot over the years, according to the school's website.

Founder Sarah Kelly-Ekman, a two-time Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, and her husband, co-owner Jonas Ekman, started teaching music lessons out of their home in 2010. They moved to a studio at Market Street in 2016.

The school coaches about 370 students with 10 coaches and 15 interns, Community Impact reported in August. That profile described how 10 students traveled to Los Angeles to record original music at EastWest Studios under producer Mike Clink, known for his work with Guns N' Roses. Another group recorded in Nashville with Taylor Swift's producer.

"As they get more serious, I get more involved and we actually make the records that end up on the Grammy ballot, Spotify and Apple music," Jonas Ekman said in the August profile.

Residents can hear the school's students perform at the Live on the Lawn series in Central Park at Market Street, Woodlands Online reported. The Friday-night shows run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. with themed performances through mid-November.

The school also hosts occasional Artist Nights devoted to the catalog of a single performer. Past themes have included Taylor Swift and ABBA.

The Sarah Kelly Music School is at Market Street, suite 480, and offers private lessons, music production, songwriting instruction, camps and showcase events for students ages 5 and older.
