Hourani's Barbershop has opened at Grogan's Mill Village Center, bringing a 43-year-old family barbering tradition to The Woodlands.

The shop occupies Suite 191 at 7 Switchbud Place, according to Woodlands Online, which published a Howard Hughes Communities announcement about the opening. It is the barbershop's second location, joining its original shop at 12121 Westheimer Road in Houston.

The business traces its roots to 1983. That year, a founder known as Mr. Mike picked up his first pair of clippers in Saida, Lebanon, according to a post on the barbershop's Facebook page. The post describes years of work through blackouts and difficult seasons before the tradition eventually reached Houston. The Woodlands expansion followed.

Hourani's offers haircuts, beard trims, hair coloring, keratin treatments, skincare and waxing services for men, women and children, according to the barbershop's website.

Jim Carman, Texas Region President for Howard Hughes Communities, oversees the developer's work in The Woodlands, including the Grogan's Mill Village Center redevelopment. The company's announcement described Hourani's as part of a "growing mix of lifestyle amenities" at the center.

The opening adds to a string of new tenants filling the redeveloped complex. Howard Hughes Communities said the barbershop joins recent arrivals Suna Studio, Uni Sushi and Cooking Girl. Yonutz Donuts and Ice Cream held its grand opening at the center on Sept. 14, as Community Impact reported. Andy's Cleaners is also part of the tenant mix at 2100 Buckthorne Place within the same complex.

The center's physical transformation has moved forward through township approvals. The Woodlands Township Development Standards Committee gave preliminary approval in February 2024 for facade remodeling at 7 Switchbud Place and 2250/2230 Buckthorne Place, covering changes to color, materials, lighting and parking. At its May 6 meeting, the committee approved a sign criteria revision for the center and a building remodel for Andy's Cleaners.

No ribbon-cutting or grand opening event has been announced for Hourani's Woodlands location. The shop is open for appointments at 7 Switchbud Place, Suite 191.
