Six Woodlands businesses will ask the Development Standards Committee for permission to change signs, facades and site features at the committee's Wednesday, Oct. 7, meeting.

The DSC agenda lists commercial requests from Sprouts Farmers Market, Crunch Fitness, HEB, Burger King, Bar Bludorn and Phat Eatery. The meeting starts at 5 p.m. at The Woodlands Township office, 2801 Technology Forest Blvd.

Sprouts Farmers Market, which opened its 500th store Sept. 12 at 4775 W. Panther Creek Drive according to Hello Woodlands, has two items. One seeks approval for pole-mounted reserved parking pickup signs and painted parking spaces. The other covers existing cart containment signs and a proposed grocery cart corral sign that advertises a service inside the store.

Crunch Fitness in Sterling Ridge is asking to modify two monument signs at 6700 Woodlands Parkway that do not match the building sign. A third monument on Woodlands Parkway contains a logo that exceeds the maximum allowed size and lacks address numbers. A separate item requests adding a new attached monument sign with an internally illuminated tenant panel for a proposed future tenant.

HEB at 3601 FM 1488 in Alden Bridge wants approval for a proposed generator on site.

Burger King at 3020 College Park Drive is seeking approval for facade improvements including finish changes, a new canopy, awnings and painting of some brick.

Bar Bludorn, the American bistro that opened Oct. 2 at 25 Waterway Ave. in Town Center according to PaperCity, wants to amend a prior condition of approval. The restaurant is asking the committee to drop a requirement for a herringbone brick accent pattern under its storefront windows.

Phat Eatery at 2290 Buckthorne Place in Grogan's Mill is requesting a variance to alter a forest preserve mid-growth area to create a view corridor from Buckthorne Place.

The agenda also includes 33 residential items covering covenant violations, deferment requests, variance requests for home additions, patio covers and short-term rental applications.

Committee Chair Arthur Bredehoft will preside. The DSC will also recess into executive session to consult with the committee's attorney under Texas Government Code Section 551.071.
