Insperity employees handmade hundreds of stuffed animals and delivered them to pediatric patients at Texas Children's Hospital The Woodlands, Hello Woodlands reported Wednesday, Aug. 26, citing the hospital.

The company purchased two stuffed-animal-making machines so workers could personally create, stuff and dress each toy before the donation. Rather than writing a check, Insperity gave employees a hands-on role in assembling every animal.

The toys went to children throughout the hospital, including those receiving inpatient care and kids visiting for check-ups and procedures. Texas Children's The Woodlands is the first hospital devoted to children's care for communities north of Houston, according to the hospital system.

Insperity, a human-capital management company based in the Spring/Woodlands area, hosts the annual Insperity Invitational PGA TOUR Champions event at The Woodlands Country Club Tournament Course. The exact number of stuffed animals was described only as "hundreds," and no specific employees were named in the hospital's account of the donation.

Employees operated the two machines to stuff each animal, then outfitted the toys in clothing before boxing them for delivery. The hospital said the gifts provided comfort to children and families during medical visits.

The donation reached both long-term patients and children in for single-day appointments. No follow-up event has been announced.
