Three races will take over the streets of The Woodlands on Saturday, Oct. 10, giving runners, joggers and kids a morning on a course that winds past the Waterway and Town Green Park.

The Woodlands Township announced Aug. 16 that registration is open for the Memorial Hermann 10 for Texas 10-mile race, the 3.1 Armadillo Run 5K and the One 4 Texas Kids' Fun Run. All three start at Northshore Park, 2505 Lake Woodlands Dr.

The 10-mile race is a USA Track and Field sanctioned event with a certified course. All three races are capped: 850 spots for the 10-miler, 500 for the 5K and 200 for the Kids' Fun Run.

Schedule

The Kids' Fun Run kicks off at 7 a.m., followed by the 5K at 7:30 a.m., a wheelchair division at 7:35 a.m. and the 10-mile race at 7:40 a.m. An awards ceremony begins around 9:30 a.m., and the event wraps at 11 a.m.

Finish lines close three hours after the start. Participants should maintain a pace of 16 minutes per mile to complete the course on time.

Course and logistics

The course passes through The Woodlands Waterway and Town Green Park, both popular spectator spots. Five hydration stations with water and sports drink are positioned along the route. Memorial Hermann Sports Medicine staff will be stationed on the course and at the finish line, with a medical tent in the post-race area.

The start and finish line is in the Northshore Park parking lot. Parking is free.

The inside lane of several streets will be closed from 6 to 10:30 a.m. on race day. Residents with traffic questions can call 281-210-2099 or email [email protected]; the line is answered around the clock starting Thursday, Oct. 8.

Strollers, baby joggers, in-line skates, dogs on leashes and bicycles are prohibited on the course per USATF rules.

After the finish

The event concludes with a post-race party featuring live music at Northshore Park. The athlete food area is in the pavilion on the park's south side; runners need their bib to access it.

The fall race calendar in The Woodlands is filling up. The Love Fosters Hope 5K and 10K takes place Oct. 3 along the Waterway, one week before the Memorial Hermann races.
