Paul and Lisa Winslow's MilkShake Factory at Cochran's Crossing has hosted school fundraisers, charity events and a law-enforcement meet-and-greet since opening May 30 at 4747 Research Forest Drive, Ste. 195.
The milkshake and chocolate shop has participated in spirit night fundraisers for local schools, special events with senior living centers and a fundraiser for Hope's Path, a charity that helps young men who have aged out of the foster care system, Community Impact reported. The shop also held a "Shakes with the Sheriff" event and had planned to participate in The Woodlands' National Night Out in October.
The Winslows have lived in The Woodlands area since 2017 and have been married for 25 years. They have two children. During the shop's first summer, there were days when the whole family worked the counter, Paul Winslow told Community Impact.
Paul Winslow's background in merchandise management has helped him oversee the store, while Lisa Winslow supports daily operations. They chose Cochran's Crossing because the location is well integrated into the surrounding neighborhood.
"It's really about people coming in here to celebrate, add a moment of joy or a pick-me-up to their day," Paul Winslow told Community Impact. "That's really what the environment is all about, just real, friendly service."
The menu features handcrafted milkshakes in signature, gourmet, classic and non-dairy categories, along with housemade chocolates, sundaes, molten cups and a root beer float. A pumpkin pie milkshake is available as a limited-time fall offering. The shop also sells allergy-friendly and non-dairy options.
MilkShake Factory traces its roots to 1914, when it started as a soda fountain and chocolate shop, according to Hello Woodlands. The Woodlands location is the brand's second in the greater Houston area, following a store in Cypress. Every milkshake is made with housemade ice cream using the brand's original recipe, according to Hello Woodlands.
