The Woodlands Township will mark the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks with a Patriot Day of Remembrance ceremony at The Woodlands Central Fire Station on Friday, Sept. 11.
The ceremony begins at 7:30 a.m. at the station, located at 9951 Grogan's Mill Road. It is free and open to all residents.
The Woodlands Fire Department is co-hosting the event, which the Township described as honoring the lives lost and recognizing the courage, sacrifice and service of the nation's first responders. The Township announced the ceremony on its official X account Tuesday, Aug. 25, calling it a remembrance of those who lost their lives in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
The event is free.

The Township hosts the ceremony annually, but this year carries particular significance as the first quarter-century milestone since the attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people in New York, Washington, D.C., and Shanksville, Pennsylvania, on that Tuesday morning in 2001. Twenty-five years later, the ceremony gives Woodlands residents a local gathering point to honor the firefighters, police officers and civilians who died.
