Train frontman Pat Monahan will perform the Grammy-winning album in full when the band's "Drops of Jupiter: 25 Years in the Atmosphere" tour stops at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on Friday, Aug. 14, at 6:45 p.m.

Barenaked Ladies and singer-songwriter Matt Nathanson open the show, which is part of the venue's Xfinity Concert Series.

The tour celebrates the 25th anniversary of Train's 2001 album Drops of Jupiter, whose title track peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and won two Grammy Awards. Monahan wrote the song after his mother, Patricia Ann Monahan, died of lung cancer in December 1998 while the band was on tour.

"I woke up with all the lyrics and melodies in my head, as though my mother had delivered me the message, 'This is what it's like when you go to the other side,'" Monahan said on the "Music Saved Me" podcast in February 2026.

The North American tour launched in West Palm Beach, Florida, in July and runs through late August, according to Live Nation. Setlists from earlier stops have included hits spanning Train's catalog: "Hey, Soul Sister," "Marry Me," "Meet Virginia," "Calling All Angels" and "50 Ways to Say Goodbye."

Barenaked Ladies co-founder Ed Robertson, 56, told The Oakland Press on Aug. 3 that the supporting role has been a welcome change from headlining. His son Lyle, 26, is touring with the band as a utility player alongside longtime members Jim Creeggan, Tyler Stewart and Kevin Hearn.

The show is at 2005 Lake Robbins Dr. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster; the venue promoted $29 tickets as of July 12, though current pricing may vary.

It's a big week for live music in The Woodlands.
