Kayak trick-or-treating on the Woodlands Waterway headlines a week of Halloween events across The Woodlands parks, with activities running through Saturday, Oct. 31.

Families looking for something beyond the usual door-to-door routine can try Kayak Trick-or-Treat. Participants paddle tandem kayaks through the lower Waterway and Lake Woodlands, stopping at festive stations to collect goodies from staff. The event runs Thursday, Oct. 29, and Friday, Oct. 30, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Riva Row Boat House, 2101 Riva Row. Costumes are encouraged, and all ages are welcome, according to the Township's fall events announcement.

Before that, the Flashlight Candy Hunt brings kids ages 5 and older to Terramont Park on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Hunts begin at 7:30 p.m. Children grab flashlights and trick-or-treat bags for an after-dark candy search. Prizes go to the best costume and to anyone who finds a hidden Halloween surprise, according to the Township parks event page. Parents must accompany children and enter free of charge.

The week wraps up with Treetop Trick-or-Treat at Texas TreeVentures, 6464 Creekside Forest Drive, on Saturday, Oct. 31, at 9 or 10 a.m. The event is for ages 6 and up.

Also on the calendar: a Moonlight Paddle on Friday, Oct. 30, at Riva Row Boat House, where staff lead kayakers through the illuminated canal and around Aria Island. Rock the Row returns to Hughes Landing on Thursday, Oct. 29, with live music on Lake Woodlands.

The Township said many of its Halloween events require pre-registration and tend to fill up fast. Registration and full details are available at thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/signupforfun. Residents can also email [email protected] or call 281-516-7348.
