The Kevin Brady Library in The Woodlands drew more voters than any other polling site in Montgomery County during the first week of early voting. The library logged more than 14,400 in-person voters between Oct. 19 and Oct. 25, the busiest of ten locations countywide, Woodlands Online reported.

Across all sites, 104,054 ballots were cast in the seven-day period, according to the report by Sean K Thompson. By comparison, 135,565 residents voted during the first week of the 2024 presidential election, Woodlands Online reported.

Candidates have congregated outside the Kevin Brady Library to meet voters and answer questions beyond the 100-foot campaign-free buffer zone, according to the report.

County elections data from the office of Elections Administrator Suzie Harvey shows Saturday, Oct. 24, was the heaviest single day, with 16,432 in-person ballots cast across all locations. The Woodlands site alone recorded 2,604 voters that day.

Woodlands Online reported that voters have stood in line outdoors, often for hours, to cast their ballots. The least-crowded sites have been the East Montgomery County Community Development Center in Splendora and the West Montgomery County Community Development Center in Magnolia.

As we reported Oct. 26, the early voting count had already topped 78,000 ballots through the first five days.

Early voting continues through Friday, Oct. 30. Polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day, and voters in line by the 7 p.m. deadline will still be allowed to vote. After early voting ends, residents must cast their ballots at their assigned precinct polling location on Election Day, Nov. 3.
