Montgomery County's two Woodlands polling sites have drawn 6,098 early voters in three days, second only to Willis countywide.

The county's unofficial daily voter count from the office of Elections Administrator Suzie Harvey shows 48,048 ballots cast from Monday, Oct. 19, through Wednesday, Oct. 21, for the Nov. 3 Joint Election. That represents roughly 10 percent of the county's registered voters, leaving the vast majority still on the sidelines with eight days of early voting left.

The Montgomery County Police Reporter first reported the three-day site rankings. Willis led all locations with 6,409 voters. The Woodlands' combined total of 6,098 placed it second, followed by Montgomery at 5,272.

Of the 48,048 ballots, 42,195 were cast in person and 5,853 arrived by mail. Opening day brought 18,837 voters, as we reported Oct. 20. Daily in-person turnout dropped to 14,361 on Oct. 20 before ticking up to 14,850 on Oct. 21.

That opening-day figure was strong but trailed the 2024 presidential election, when more than 20,000 county residents voted on the first day, the Police Reporter noted.

Sources differ on the exact number of registered voters. The Police Reporter and Woodlands Online cite roughly 461,000. The Montgomery County Elections website lists 487,793 as of Oct. 21. Under either figure, more than 400,000 registered voters have not yet cast a ballot.
