The Alden Bridge Village Association's free Fall Festival returns Saturday, Nov. 7, at Lakeside Park in The Woodlands, packing an afternoon of carnival games, bounce houses and food for families across the community.
The annual event runs from 1 to 4 p.m. at 5001 Alden Bridge Drive and is open to everyone, according to Hello Woodlands, which first reported the details. The festival draws well over 1,000 people each year, according to the Alden Bridge Village Association, known as ABVA.
Admission is free.
Kids can climb a rock wall, get their faces painted, watch a bubble master perform or sit for a caricature artist. A DJ, photo booth and balloon twisters round out the lineup. The Woodlands Fire Department plans to make an appearance, giving young visitors a chance to see fire equipment up close.
On the food side, Chick-fil-A and Kroger are providing meals and snacks. Ice cream and snow cones will also be available throughout the afternoon.
Chick-fil-A, Kroger and Hello Woodlands are sponsoring the event alongside ABVA. Proceeds from participating organizations' booth rentals fund the ABVA scholarship fund, which supports students in the Alden Bridge community. The association lists a dedicated scholarships section on its website, including past award recipients and application details.
ABVA President Maryann Braid said Lakeside Park offers plenty of room for the activities planned. "Please join us for the fun, it's going to be a great day in Alden Bridge!" Braid said in a statement.
Alden Bridge, one of The Woodlands' village areas, opened in 1994. Roger Galatas, then president of The Woodlands Operating Company, named the village after his hometown in Louisiana, according to the ABVA website.
The family-friendly even is free; no registration or tickets are required. Lakeside Park is at 5001 Alden Bridge Drive.
