Chef Aaron Bludorn will open Bar Bludorn The Woodlands on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 25 Waterway Ave. The American bistro is the Houston restaurateur's first restaurant outside central Houston.

Bludorn Hospitality Group (BHG) announced the opening on Wednesday, Sept. 2, calling it the first expansion of the Bar Bludorn concept, which debuted in Houston's Memorial area in March 2024. Howard Hughes Communities partnered with BHG on the project.

The Woodlands location seats about 100 in the main dining room. A 30-seat private dining space, a larger bar and a patio add to the footprint, making the restaurant 20 to 30% bigger than the original, the Houston Chronicle reported.

Gensler designed the space.

The site sits near the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. Bludorn told the Chronicle the Waterway location fit the concept he had in mind: "I wanted something that felt really comfortable and felt like a neighborhood restaurant just tucked right in there."

The menu will pair Bar Bludorn signatures with new dishes inspired by American bistro dining, according to the announcement. Bludorn founded the hospitality group in 2020 with partners Cherif Mbodji and Victoria Pappas Bludorn. BHG now operates four Houston restaurants: its flagship Bludorn, Navy Blue, Bar Bludorn in Memorial and Perseid in Hotel Saint Augustine.

The opening follows Chef Austin Simmons' steakhouse Charolais, which debuted nearby in July. BHG is also working on a San Antonio expansion, though no timeline has been announced.
