Stuart Barrett, vice president of customer service for Entergy Texas, will lead The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce as its 2026-2027 chairman of the board.
The Chamber announced the new leadership on Tuesday, Sept. 1, the start of its new fiscal year. Barrett succeeds Justin Kendrick, CEO of Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center, who served as chairman during the 2025-2026 term.
Barrett said he is grateful for the chance to work with business leaders "invested in the continued success of The Woodlands and the greater Montgomery County region."
Entergy Texas is headquartered in The Woodlands. Barrett's company also served as presenting sponsor of the Chamber's 2026 Economic Outlook Conference on Feb. 6.
Christin Allphin, executive vice president of Woodforest National Bank – Town Center, will serve as chair-elect for the coming year. Allphin is set to become chairman for the 2027-2028 term.
Seven new members join the board for three-year terms running through Aug. 31, 2029:
- David Bernard, CEO of Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital
- Stacie Coleman, Project Beacon Texas
- Angela Schimmels, Keller Williams Realty, The Woodlands & Magnolia
- Monique Sharp, president and CEO of The Woodlands Township
- William Warner, retired
- Jordan Watson, Howard Hughes
- Chris Wehe, Ellard Insurance & Risk Management
The seats span health care, real estate, government, development and insurance. Sharp runs the Township itself, and Bernard leads Houston Methodist's Woodlands campus.
Aaron Cox, the Chamber's president and CEO, said the incoming directors' "vision and commitment to our mission will guide us as we continue moving the Chamber forward."
The Chamber plans to celebrate the outgoing 2025-2026 board at its Annual Meeting and Awards Luncheon on Friday, Sept. 25.
