Grace Woodlands is giving away $600 in cash prizes at a free car show on Saturday, Aug. 8. No entry fee for vehicles or spectators.
The Car Show at Grace runs from 9 a.m. to noon at the church's campus, 24400 Interstate 45 N, The Woodlands. Three $200 prizes will be awarded: Best Muscle, Best Classic, and Best Exotic cars or trucks.
The church is also running a raffle. Vehicles that pre-register receive five raffle tickets; those that register on-site the day of the event get one ticket. The drawing is worth $100 cash.
Grace Woodlands describes the show as part of a monthly series featuring classic and modern vehicles. A concurrent "Back to School Backpacks" giveaway will take place during the same 9 a.m. to noon window, according to the church's website.
The event falls during the Texas Sales Tax Holiday, which runs Friday, Aug. 7, through Sunday, Aug. 9, giving families already out shopping another reason to swing by. Conroe ISD's first day of school follows four days later on Wednesday, Aug. 12, according to ABC 13.
