Montgomery County's early voting total has topped 137,000 ballots. The Woodlands polling site has drawn more voters than any other location in the county.

Through Oct. 27, voters had cast 137,255 ballots in the Nov. 3 Joint Election, according to unofficial daily counts first reported by the Montgomery County Police Reporter. The Woodlands site recorded 19,623 voters, roughly 1,500 more than the next-busiest location in Willis at 18,138.

The Woodlands early voting location is the George and Cynthia Woods Mitchell Library at 8125 Ashlane Way, according to Woodlands Online. Montgomery followed Willis with 13,846 voters, then the Magnolia Event Center at 13,375 and Conroe at 12,832, the Police Reporter reported.

Friday, Oct. 30, is the last day of early voting. Polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at all 10 county locations, according to Woodlands Online. Registered voters can cast a ballot at any of the county's early voting sites.

The first week alone produced 104,054 ballots, representing 21% of the county's 487,232 registered voters, Community Impact reported. That outpaced the 2022 midterm cycle, when 78,075 people voted through the first seven days, or 19% of registered voters at the time.

Of the 137,255 total, 129,395 were cast in person and 7,860 were returned by mail, according to the Police Reporter. Opening day, Oct. 19, was the busiest single day with 18,837 ballots.

Gov. Greg Abbott was scheduled to visit Montgomery on Oct. 28 for a Get-Out-the-Vote event at the Old Montgomery Steakhouse, the Police Reporter reported. The event was billed as part of campaign and voter turnout efforts in the county.

Voters who miss the early voting deadline can cast ballots on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Locations, sample ballots and other details are available through the Montgomery County Elections Office at MontgomeryVotes.org.
