The American Heart Association opened its 2026–2027 campaign year on Sept. 9 at Lotus of The Woodlands, unveiling five events across Montgomery County.
First up is the Montgomery County Heart Walk on Saturday, Oct. 31, at Northshore Park, 2505 Lake Woodlands Drive. The event opens at 8 a.m. and the walk begins at 8:45 a.m.
The walk has a $300,000 fundraising goal. As of Sept. 16, organizers had raised $92,821 toward that target, according to the AHA's registration page.
Heart Walk chair Keaton Kainer was among the leaders recognized at the kickoff, Hello Woodlands reported.
Four more events round out the year. The Origin Bank Open Golf Tournament is set for Tuesday, Nov. 17, at Highland Pines Golf Club. The Paul "Bear" Bryant Awards follow on Jan. 27, 2027, though no venue has been announced.
The annual gala formerly called the Heart Ball has a new name: Heart of The Woodlands. Cassandra and Kyle Mays will chair the event, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 20, 2027, at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott.
The Go Red For Women Luncheon closes the calendar on Friday, May 14, 2027, also at the Waterway Marriott. Michelle Little chairs that event. Circle of Red chair Sarah Rados and Leader of Impact nominee Shannon Regan were also recognized at the Sept. 9 gathering.
