A padel and wellness club on FM 1488 is gearing up for its grand opening after a soft launch Aug. 7.

Lobb's Padel, at 3905 FM 1488, Ste. 120, plans to hold its grand opening Saturday, Sept. 19, cofounders Justin Huet Dastarac and Victor Ernaelsteen told Community Impact Newspaper. The venue's soft opening offered padel and coffee.

The Sept. 19 event will feature food, drinks, mat Pilates, open play, free introductory padel coaching sessions and a DJ.

What's inside

The venue houses five indoor panoramic padel courts, a café and bar, a pro shop, locker rooms and a wellness area with a cold plunge and infrared sauna with red light therapy, according to the Lobb's Padel website. Programming includes leagues, clinics, private lessons, a junior academy and private events.

Padel is a racket sport played on a smaller, enclosed court with glass walls. Players use solid paddles and a depressurized tennis ball in doubles matches.

Membership pricing

Monthly memberships range from $80 to $400, according to the venue's website. The entry-level Blue Plate tier costs $80 per month and includes one off-peak session per week for students, people 50 and older, and casual players. The top-tier Home Run membership runs $400 per month for four sessions per week and can be shared with a group.

A seven-day trial costs $50 and includes open play, organized play, one clinic session and a free racket rental.

A growing sport in Texas

Padel is expanding fast in the United States, and Texas is one of its hotspots. The state had roughly 57 padel clubs as of July 2026, second only to Florida, according to Padel Courts Finder. Lobb's Padel was listed among 29 clubs announced or under construction nationwide.

The 2026 Global Padel Report from Playtomic and Strategy&, the consulting arm of PwC, counted 250 padel clubs in the U.S. and described the country as a "high-potential" market, Sports Business Journal reported. U.S. player participation has grown 250% since 2022, according to the Playtomic report.
