Sprouts Farmers Market will open its doors at Panther Creek Village Center on Friday, Sept. 11, filling a grocery anchor space that has sat empty since Randalls closed in 2020.

The store at 4775 W. Panther Creek Dr., Suite 400, will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6:45 a.m. Doors open at 7 a.m., according to a grand opening listing on Woodlands Online.

The first 200 in-store shoppers will receive a free reusable tote, and the first 400 customers will get a free long-stem rose courtesy of Falcon Farms Floral. Both giveaways are while supplies last.

The opening begins a three-day celebration. A pop-up party with food samples and a scavenger hunt runs from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 11 and Saturday, Sept. 12.

On Sunday, Sept. 13, the party runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free totes return for the first 200 shoppers on Saturday as well.

The Phoenix-based chain focuses on fresh, natural and organic groceries and offers ready-to-eat options including sushi, deli sandwiches and wellness bowls. Sprouts operates more than 480 stores across 25 states and is on track to open 42 new locations in 2026, with 24 of those scheduled between September and year-end, USA Today reported.

The Woodlands store sits in a center with deep roots. Panther Creek Village Center, a 170,700-square-foot shopping center owned by Regency Centers, has anchored the Village of Panther Creek since 1983. The former Randalls space had been vacant for six years before Sprouts signed on.

Abe Pacetti, senior vice president of investments at Regency Centers, wrote in an Aug. 20 Houston Business Journal column that Sprouts is filling a portion of the former Randalls footprint. He described the new grocery anchor and an incoming family entertainment tenant as part of Regency's strategy for updating legacy shopping centers.

The remainder of the former Randalls space has been leased to Lava Island, an indoor tropical-themed entertainment venue with slides, trampolines and party packages. That venue is targeting a spring 2027 opening.

Existing tenants at the center include CVS, Planet Fitness and Woodlands Children's Museum.

Sprouts also opened a location at 4303 Kingwood Dr. in Kingwood on April 17, the Houston Chronicle reported.

Giveaways are in-store only and available while supplies last.
