The Woodlands' fall recreational soccer season opened Saturday, Sept. 19, with boys and girls ages 3 to 18 playing an eight-game schedule that runs through Nov. 14.

The local program is part of HTX Soccer's Fall 2026 Recreational Program, which drew more than 3,550 players to fields across 10 Greater Houston locations during its opening weekend. The organization fielded 525 teams, scheduled more than 1,900 matches and enlisted 350 volunteer coaches for the season, Woodlands Online reported. Opening weekend drew more than 12,000 spectators regionwide.

All coaches are parent volunteers.

Woodlands Recreational Director David Hubbard said the local program introduced new elements for the fall.

"We're excited to get the Fall season up and running," Hubbard said. "A few new ideas have been implemented into the program that we feel will provide even more fun for the players."

Hubbard credited the volunteer coaches across the program for bringing energy and guidance to the season. Phil Ebner, HTX Soccer's Grassroots Director, thanked staff members who worked through the summer preparing fields and schedules ahead of the opener.

Games take place Saturdays at Pure Soccer in Oak Ridge North and Wendtwoods Park in Spring, according to HTX Soccer's Woodlands page. Supplemental skills training sessions for ages 6 to 14 run Monday through Thursday at Bear Branch Sports Fields No. 6 through Nov. 19.

HTX Soccer serves close to 9,000 members ages 3 to 18 across the Greater Houston region and has operated for more than 20 years, according to the organization's website. The Woodlands program was named 2026 Best of The Woodlands Elite and Youth Sports Club winner.

TDECU, a Houston-area credit union, sponsors the fall recreational program. Simon Boddison, HTX Soccer's Director of Soccer Operations, said the partnership has been in place for 18 months.

The Woodlands season wraps up Saturday, Nov. 14, with skills training at Bear Branch continuing through Nov. 19.
