The Woodlands will honor the nearly 3,000 people killed on Sept. 11, 2001, with a ceremony at 7:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at the Central Fire Station, 9951 Grogan's Mill Road.

The 2026 ceremony marks the 25th anniversary of the attacks. The Woodlands Township said in a press release that residents, visitors and first responders are invited to attend the outdoor event, which runs until 8:30 a.m.

The program features a Presentation of Colors by The Woodlands Fire Department Honor Guard, a reading of The Fireman's Prayer and the Ringing of the Bell in remembrance of fallen firefighters. The ceremony honors first responders, military members and law enforcement, the Township said.

Hello Woodlands reported that The Woodlands Fire Department co-hosts the event. Woodlands Online listed a bagpipe performance and participation from the Sons of the American Revolution as additional elements.

Residents who cannot attend can watch a livestream on The Woodlands Township Facebook page. Limited parking is available at the fire station.
