Actor and comedian Will Forte will join The Pangea Network for its fall fundraiser on Nov. 1 at The Refuge Steakhouse & Bourbon Bar in Creekside.
The event, called "The Next Chapter," runs from 3 to 6 p.m. at 8540 Creekside Forest Drive. Single tickets are listed at $200, with a pair available for $350, according to The Pangea Network's website. An earlier RSVP deadline has passed, so prospective attendees should check the website for current availability.
Forte is Pangea's Goodwill Ambassador. In a statement on the nonprofit's website, he described the role as gratifying because the organization does real good in the world, a contrast with his day job of writing fictional scenarios and creating characters.
He has backed the nonprofit with more than words. In 2020, Forte won $32,000 for The Pangea Network on a celebrity edition of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire," according to the organization's website.
Forte currently plays Jack in Netflix's "The Four Seasons," now in production on its third season. He also starred as Kevin Avery in "Coyote vs. Acme," which opened in theaters Aug. 28 and began streaming Sept. 29. Audiences may also know him from "Saturday Night Live" and "The Last Man on Earth."
The Woodlands resident Nicole Minor founded The Pangea Network in 2005. The organization is headquartered in The Woodlands and operates programs in Kenya and the United States focused on education, leadership development, mentorship and economic opportunity for women and youth. Its 2026 goal is to reach more than 2,000 women and youth with training and resources.
In Kenya, the nonprofit runs the Kenyan Women's Network, which provides life and business skills training, health education and entrepreneurship support. It also operates adolescent health programs and a student sponsorship program.
Locally, the Young Women's Leadership Challenge pairs high school girls with mentorship and leadership training. Participants build confidence and create their own community impact projects, the nonprofit says on its website.
The Nov. 1 afternoon will feature food and drinks, silent and live auctions, a wine pull and a "paddles up" giving opportunity.
