The Woodlands Township wants 65 volunteers to help plant nearly 300 native trees at Timarron Park on Saturday, Nov. 7.

The planting runs from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Creekside Park community park, located at 200 North Green Print Circle. Volunteers ages 16 and older will receive a brief planting demonstration before getting to work, according to the Township's announcement on X.

Space is capped at 65 volunteers. The Township urged residents to register early.

The Township branded the effort "Help Keep the Woods in The Woodlands" and called on residents to "help grow our community's forest." The event is one way the local government is working to replenish the tree canopy that gives the community its name and wooded character.

The Township did not specify which native tree species will be planted or name an event organizer. Residents with questions can contact the Parks and Recreation department at 281-210-3900.
