Montgomery County Precinct 3 Commissioner Ritch Wheeler will host a free workshop on polling-place conduct three weeks before early voting begins for the Nov. 3 general election.

The one-hour session, titled "Respecting the Voter's Experience: Election Day Etiquette," is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 18, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Kevin Brady Community Center, 2250 Buckthorne Place, in Grogan's Mill Village Center.

The workshop is open to anyone but is aimed squarely at four groups: candidates, campaign staff, poll workers, and voters, according to Woodlands Online, which first reported the event on Monday, July 27. Topics will include election procedures, polling-place laws, and what the announcement calls "best practices" for ensuring every voter feels comfortable casting a ballot.

Timing ties to township filing deadline

The event falls one day after the Monday, August 17, deadline for candidates to file for four open seats on The Woodlands Township Board of Directors. The board ordered that election at its Thursday, July 23, meeting. Newly filed candidates and their campaign teams could use the Tuesday session as an immediate primer on what is and isn't allowed near a polling place.

Early voting for the November 3 election runs Monday, October 19, through Friday, October 30, according to the Montgomery County elections calendar. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, with polls open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

No registration requirement has been announced. The Kevin Brady Community Center opened in September 2025 as part of the Grogan's Mill Village Center revitalization and is operated by Wheeler's Precinct 3 office. The center's phone number is 281-363-9410.
