A two-year-old boy survived a near-drowning in a Woodlands-area swimming pool after his father pulled him out and performed CPR before sheriff's deputies arrived.
Montgomery County Sheriff's Office District 6 deputies responded to the call on Sunday, Sept. 6, Montgomery County Police Reporter reported. The father had found the boy floating face-down in the pool. The child was not breathing.
The father began CPR immediately. By the time deputies reached the scene, he was holding the boy, who was breathing and crying.
The child was transported to Texas Children's Hospital The Woodlands for further care.
On Monday, Sept. 14, the boy and his family visited the District 6 office to thank the deputies who had responded. The sheriff's office, in a statement, said it was grateful to see the child doing well and praised both the father's quick actions and the deputies' response.
