Kids ages 5 and up can build robots, code drones, and program their own video games at no cost this August at iCode The Woodlands, which is hosting a three-Saturday festival as a hands-on sampler before fall enrollment opens.
The Fall STEM Festival runs Saturday, Aug. 8, Saturday, Aug. 15, and Saturday, Aug. 22 at 4526 Research Forest Drive, Suite 125. Each day offers two sessions: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission is free. Families must RSVP in advance because spots are limited.
The festival offers four age-specific tracks:
- Jr. Coding with Scratch (ages 5–10): Kids learn logic and coding fundamentals by building and playing their own 2D games.
- VEX IQ Robotics (ages 7–11): Students build, program, and command robots in a customized arena.
- Minecraft and Roblox Coding Lab (ages 8–12): Block- and text-based coding taught through familiar game platforms.
- Drone Coding Lab (ages 10+): Participants write script to program flight paths and execute precision maneuvers.
iCode The Woodlands opened its Research Forest Drive campus on April 26 and positions the festival as a final summer offering before its fall after-school schedule launches. The center offers year-round classes in coding, robotics, game development, and digital design, according to its Woodlands Online listing.
The no-commitment format gives families a chance to see which track fits their child before signing up for a semester. iCode said the festival marks the last window for summer-exclusive pricing before fall programs launch.
