The 15th Annual Run for Hope returns to Town Green Park on Oct. 3, with a $75,000 fundraising goal to support foster care youth in Montgomery and Harris counties.
Love Fosters Hope, the Woodlands-based nonprofit behind the race, had raised $5,010 toward that goal as of July 29, according to its RunSignUp registration page.
Runners and walkers can choose among three distances: a timed 10K ($50), a timed 5K ($40), or a 1-mile fun run/walk ($30). All three start at 7 a.m. CDT. Registration closes Friday, October 2, at 6 p.m.
Medals go to the overall male and female winners of the 5K and 10K, plus top finishers in age-group categories, according to the Woodlands Online event listing. The morning also includes a light breakfast, children's entertainment, and partner booths focused on child abuse awareness, fostering, and adoption.
Who benefits
Love Fosters Hope, founded in 2012 and headquartered in The Woodlands, serves children and teens in foster care who have experienced abuse, abandonment, and neglect. Its programs include summer camps for kids ages 7 through 19, year-round mentoring, and "The Net," a support system for young adults aging out of the foster care system.
The organization cites stark national numbers: one in four foster youth are diagnosed with PTSD, and one in four are incarcerated within two years of leaving care.
In a June 2025 press release promoting that year's 14th Annual Run for Hope, a Love Fosters Hope representative called the event "more than a race — it's a lifeline" for children who have experienced trauma.
