Carlos Santana and the Doobie Brothers will share the stage at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on Friday, Aug. 21, for one of the final stops on their joint Oneness Tour, with lawn tickets starting at $29.50.
The show begins at 7 p.m. at the Pavilion, 2005 Lake Robbins Drive. Gates open at 6 p.m., according to the venue's event listing. Reserved seats run $39.50 to $250, and pit access costs $300 to $500. Live Nation is presenting the concert at the Pavilion, which carries the Huntsman naming sponsorship.
The Oneness Tour launched in June in Tinley Park, Illinois, and wraps Aug. 27 in Shakopee, Minnesota, making The Woodlands date one of the last chances to catch both acts together this summer.
A new album in the spotlight
Cindy Blackman Santana, the drummer and bandleader who has anchored Carlos Santana's live shows for years, is using the tour to showcase her seventh solo studio album, "Coherence," released July 31 on Mack Avenue Records. The 17-track jazz fusion record runs nearly 80 minutes and features Carlos Santana on five tracks, guitarist John McLaughlin, bassist Matt Garrison, and a spoken introduction by Snoop Dogg on lead single "The Message Is Love."
"That combination for me is a coming together of energies — it's unity — it's coherence! It's knocking down walls that separate and allowing seemingly different worlds to join in creating something hip and cool," Blackman Santana told Grateful Web on July 31, describing the creative energy behind the single.
The Doobie Brothers lineup
The Doobie Brothers bring a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame pedigree to the bill. The band's current lineup features founding members Tom Johnston and Pat Simmons alongside keyboardist and vocalist Michael McDonald and guitarist John McFee. With more than 40 million records sold worldwide and hits spanning "Black Water," "China Grove," and "What a Fool Believes," the group's 2026 sets have run about an hour and 25 minutes, according to Ticketmaster's tour blog.
Carlos Santana proposed to Cindy Blackman on stage at a Santana concert in Tinley Park in July 2010, after her drum solo. The couple married later that year, and their musical partnership now anchors both the Santana touring band and the Oneness Tour.
